Common questions

How do I cancel my subscription?

On iPhone (iOS): Go to your iPhone Settings → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → find STORYTAP → tap Cancel Subscription.

On Android: Open the Google Play Store → tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → find STORYTAP → tap Cancel subscription.

You keep access until the end of your current billing period. We do not issue partial refunds, but you will not be charged again after you cancel.

How do I restore my subscription after reinstalling?

Open the app and go to Profile → Subscription → tap "Restore purchases". Sign in with the same Apple ID or Google account you used to subscribe. Your plan will be restored automatically.

My voice recording is not transcribing. What do I do?

Transcription requires an internet connection. Please check:

1. You are connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data.
2. You have an active Story Keeper or Family Vault subscription (transcription is not available on the free plan).
3. You have given the app microphone permission — go to your phone Settings → STORYTAP → Microphone → allow.

If the problem continues, email us at storytap.app@gmail.com with your device model and iOS/Android version.

Can I use STORYTAP without an internet connection?

Yes. STORYTAP saves all your stories directly on your device. You can record, write, and read your stories fully offline. Cloud backup and AI transcription require an internet connection, but everything else works without one.

How do I export my stories?

Open any story and tap the share icon (top right). You can export as JSON, plain text, or share directly. Exporting your stories is always free, on every plan. This is your data — you can take it with you any time.

What is the difference between Story Keeper and Family Vault?

Free — unlimited stories, stored on your device, all frameworks, all story guides.

Story Keeper — everything in Free, plus cloud backup, AI transcription, and audio stories.

Family Vault — everything in Story Keeper, plus a shared family space for up to 6 members so you can capture stories together.

I lost my stories after reinstalling. Can I get them back?

If you had a Story Keeper or Family Vault subscription and cloud backup was enabled, your stories are safe. Reinstall the app, sign in with the same account, and your stories will sync back automatically.

If you were on the free plan, stories are stored only on your device and cannot be recovered after uninstalling. This is why we recommend enabling cloud backup.

How do I request a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google, not by us directly.

iPhone: Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, find your STORYTAP purchase, and tap "Request a refund".

Android: Open the Google Play Store → tap your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → find STORYTAP → tap "Request a refund".

Account deletion

How to delete your account

You can delete your account at any time, directly inside the app. Open STORYTAP → Profile → tap "Delete account" at the bottom of the page → confirm.

When you delete your account:

• All your stories are removed from our servers within 90 days.
• Your email address and profile data are deleted immediately.
• Your subscription is cancelled automatically.
• Stories stored only on your device are removed when you uninstall the app.

If you cannot access the app and need your account deleted, email us at storytap.app@gmail.com with the subject line "DELETE MY ACCOUNT" and we will handle it within 30 days.
